I'm looking into options for tv setups, which leads to a couple of random questions.

Anyone have any experience with good/bad tv tuners?
Can a tv card replace a flow set top box?
Wonder if it makes sense to set up a DVR pc. Is it possible to have multiple tvs stream content from the media server?

Nothing will replace the Flow box.

I'd recommend a HTPC if you're doing HD video. This is what I used.

Plenty bad. Get a Hauppauge and done

No, but most TV cards can clone a cable box remote and some can even control via that method (again Hauppauge)

Nuh really. Get a WD media box or use you existing PC with Windows Media center (mpeg hardware accelerated tv card encoder required , Hauppauge)

With multiple instances of VLC you can over a LAN. Terrible video quality though.
