The final stage of The International 2012 was an andrenaline rush of spectacular gameplay. Defending champions Na'vi were written off as true contenders, having just managed to squeeze into the winners bracket. This was where they made their stand sending DK down to the losers bracket.
The win set up a clash against Invictus Gaming, one of the tournament favourites. Once more Na'vi prevailed and Trinidad and Tobago's fans were rallying to the side of the defending champions like the true bandwagonists that we are.
They looked to face the most dominant and undefeated team in the entire tournament LGD. Na'vi with team talisman Dendi, once more showed their resilence and determination as they shocked LGD to the core sending them down to the losers bracket.
Invictus Gaming could not have been pleased with the result. It was their turn to face LGD. However the loss to Na'vi seemed to have rattled their nerves as they went down in the best of three. This set up a rematch in the grand finals.
Na'vi would defend their title against Invictus Gaming in a best of five series. Invictus Gaming quickly stomped their way to victory in Game 1. Na'vi replied in kind in Game 2. Dendi was definitely tournament MVP in the eyes of the fans. iG would take Game 3 with very effective Disruptor play. Game 4 was everything or nothing.
Invictus was one away from victory while Na'vi were fighting for their survival. A counter pick to Keeper of the Light was made with Nyx Assassin. This did not work out as intended. Despite being dominated, Na'vi managed to win team fights mid way through the game. Invictus put their heads down and pressed their advantage. In the end fan favourites Na'vi could not stand up to the wrath of Invictus and Ferrari's Templar Assassain.
The International 2012 saw a new champion weilding the Aegis of Champions in victory, Invictus Gaming.
