The guy who told legions of Diablo fans that D2 was not as good as we remembered has once again managed to draw the ire of fans. Jay Wilson had been zipped for some weeks now. This left major announcements to Blizzard President, Mike Morhaime. At least until the heat wore off. With the incoming 1.0.4 patch that hopes to bring players back to Diablo III, the leash was loosened on Jay Wilson.
Diablo creator, Dave Brevik was interviewed by Inc Gamers where he was asked about his views on Diablo III. He kindly noted the loss of expertise when Blizzard North closed and that he would have made different decisions in game design. "Blizzard South" as he called them were used to designing a different style of game. The combination of these factors would have created a far different game play experience. Brevik was remorseful that the current team had to learn these lessons the hard way.
Jay Wilson responded with, "F*** that loser" on Facebook.
Fans responded instantly on Blizzard's forums but the thread has since been locked. Many have sworn to shun not only the 1.0.4 patch but also upcoming Blizzard products. Jay has definitely earned his muzzle once more. I guess we will be hearing another plea from Mike Morhaime in the near future.
