Realism based zombie mod for the ARMA II engine, DayZ has officially announced that they will go standalone. The game will be co-developed along side the mod so players who have invested in ARMA II can continue to receive updates. It is expected to follow the Minecraft model where for a small fee, gamers are able to play every incremental update from alpha to the final version.
The official website at htp://www.dayzgame.com isn't much to look at now but it's promised that in the coming weeks, a lot of information will be put forward on the title. The mod has continued to grow at a steady rate, hitting one million unique players and gaining close to 100,000 players each week.
Local players have been getting in on the action at the Facebook group, DayZ Trinidad and Tobago.
