Despite their relatively small numbers compared to Windows, Apple IOS devices have owners with more buying power. It's a definite temptation for hackers. The Flashback botnet discovered in April broke the consumer image of Apple's impenetratable operating system. Today their safety continues to slope downwards with news that malware actually made it on to the Apple Store.

The app called "Find and Call" promises to "Free calls from your mobile phone to domains, email, Skype, social networks. Forget about numbers!!!". However once it has access to your data it's uploaded to a remote server without the knowledge of the user. At that point messages start going out to all contacts and compiling a mailing list for spammers. The app was also found on the Android store. Malware of this nature has shown up on Google's Android store in the past. This is the first time for Apple.
