DOTA 2 League Report - Week One - Time to fight!

The inaugral Trinigamers DOTA 2 League got underway on Saturday with six teams vying to be the Kings of the Beta.

Fresher faces seemed to show more enthusiasm for competition by arriving early and laying in wait. Meanwhile the more experienced teams, having competed in many Trinigamers DotA events seemed to take the laid back approach. Arriving on "Trini Time" would prove costly. Section 34 and TftB both started off their best of three battles with a default win. If nothing else their opponents learnt that coming late had consequences. Despite this Bloodpack and Experimental Project both dominated their green opponents to win their best of three.

Even worse Big Gunz vs SideStep Gaming resulted in a double forfeit for both in the first two games, leaving the teams to scramble for time to play their third. Big Gunz won their single game thanks in part to SideStep Gaming being a player short. Forced to use a player from the sub-pool, they came up with Mirana specialist m_illusionist. This didn't improve their chances.

Once again teams have all week to schedule and play their matches before the default time. Despite being the wise thing to do, I think we'll see everyone on Saturday.
