Developer Sos Sowoski, creator of the Indie game Mc Pixel, has decided to work with major torrent website The Pirate Bay as a promotional tool. He offers up a torrented version of his game for free. In return he asks that gamers simply pay what they feel it's worth to them, if they like it. McPixel.net also links to The Pirate Bay torrent. So far he has seen a definite spike in interest for his game and a bump in sales.
"I think that if people who torrent the game are aware that there is a live person behind the game, and makes the game for a living, they are more willing to provide support than to a giant lifeless studio." - Sos Sowoski
