Short version: Great Game, get it.
98
Long Version:
Very fun. You play as Indiana or a range of characters from the first three movies, trying to solve puzzles, unlock secret items and generally save the day. The story generally follows the movies with added puzzles for you to solve.
Some of those puzzles, like the jumping puzzles are a pain in the arse for me, and I sometimes found myself getting so frustrated by some of them that I'd have to get up and take a break before going back at it. Some of the puzzles are not very straight forwards at first and people could easily find themselves sitting there looking at Indiana and wondering what the hell they are supposed to do next. Generally though most are, pick up item A and carry it to item B, stand on Button X and have the female character jump to rope Y.
Each character has their own special abilities. Indie has his whip for getting around obstacles and interacting with the environment, Short Round is small to get into tiny doors, the ladies jump higher than the male characters, Thugees can interact with special statues, Nazis can open certain doors.
Like in Lego Star Wars you are able to wear stolen hats to get into places you shouldnt be able to, but many of the areas are still only accessible in free play mode, which gives you the ability to switch between a large selection of characters.
There's a lot of stuff to do when interacting with the environment and most things can either be smashed, blown up, stomped on by elephants or put together into whole new things.
The cut scenes are pretty funny, but I'll be honest and say that I liked the ones from the Star Wars Games better. And speaking of the Star Wars Games, several of the characters and locations are hidden away for you to find. C3PO makes the very first cameo appearance in the cut scenes, and Luke is the first character hidden away in plain sight.
This is a gamer's equivalent of Sesame Street. It can be enjoyed by people who have never seen the movies, played by novice gamers who just want to have a little fun and appreciated by the serious gamer who enjoys solving every puzzle, discovering every hidden easter egg and unlocking every achievement in a game.
You'll be able enjoy this with your friends, family and the other non-gamers who may be present in your life.
