I came here to discuss the fine art of cutarse. Namely, what's going to go down at this sweat. Now, are you guys in?

No such thing as Mafeking River
Your reporter Radhica Sookraj, who reported on the severe flooding in Mayaro (Guardian, December 24), ought to know there is no river in Trinidad called the Mafeking River, while one of the best-known rivers in Trinidad is the River Ortoire, and that is the one that had burst its banks.
Also, a lot of the damage took place in Mafeking, which, although adjacent to Mayaro, is in County Nariva. This does not make it less regrettable, but reporters must have an idea as to where they are and what they are writing about.
There is another interesting point: the chairman of the Rio Claro/Mayaro Regional Corporation referred to three places that had also suffered severe flooding: Plum Mitan, Navet, and Poole Valley, and the reporter gave the impression that these three places were in Mayaro, but in fact they are a distance away.
The reporter also said several houses along the Naparima/Mayaro Road were under water, and that could not be true.
It does not mean one does not sympathise with the flood victims, but this letter is written for the sake of accuracy.

That site has a notorious habit of letting the links change so if you end up on a page and it not there, the letter was written on Friday 28.
The letter pretty much highlights that even reporters are prone to slipping up when it comes to our geography, and poor Radhica made some HUGE slip ups. Seems that Michael decided that enough was enough and it was time to pwn her for her geographical n00biness.
What she did was make a mistake... well several really, and as Mojo points out in this case it would paint all of us (trinis) in a bad light to have a well written reporter making such mistakes. The same goes for when all of us make that sort of mistake.
I mean it's not very fair to say well because this guy (http://www.trinigamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5389) is from foreign we should go rip him a new one, but when one of us does something along similar lines we shouldnt say nothing.
Ahhhh well. Philips certificate atlas for the caribbean, in all we MC I suppose.

...yeah. I think this thread's over now.
The sweat was awesome, we all had a good time, cutarse all around.
Too tired to write up a sweat report right now.
Well, have fun debating over where Chaguanas is.

Nah bro, is not the location chaguanas we debating. We all pretty much know where that is. Philip's FTW.... Is the definition of "south" without use of the words "past the lighthouse" because if we do that, Kaizen done promise to delete the post. ;)
I suppose we could say "South" (s-ou-t) refers to anywhere South of 10°38'50.65"N and accessible by land only by travelling East of 61°30'34.20"W. :p But I'm willing to accept there are those who would choose to debate that definition.

crazy talk man, nothign at all is wrong with NEO's post, if you are located in one area, then the location of other areas based on cardinal points are always subject to change.
common sense, you need to head south in order to reach Chaguanas from Grand Bazaar.
no sweat report?

no sweat report?
Whoops. My bad.
I guess I do owe you guys some insight as to what happened down at Playmax.
I headed down there around midday, or so.
I wasn't too familiar with Chaguanas, so I had to ask rb for directions prior to getting down there, and once I reached, I winged it to Playmax from there.
I met whiplash and his friend on the way there.
They looked pretty friendly, but also like a couple of fellas who do know a thing or two about the game. They went to grab some batteries for their camera, to film some of the matches. As I hit Playmax a few seconds later, Ultima was there, and we headed inside.
Once we got in, the sweat began.
Now, mind you, we had a whole lot of matches amongst ourselves.
So much so, that to actually go into detail about each and every match would be extremely cumbersome (just to let you know, we sweated for a good while). So, as a compromise, here was the lowdown, in a nutshell.
whiplash
Main Teams Played:
- MSP (Magneto, Storm, Psylocke)
- Doctor Doom, Strider Hiryu, Sentinel
- Team Scrub (Cable, Sentinel, Captain Commando)
whiplash, the very guy who called us out to the challenge, fared very well in his matches. He truly served to impress with his skills in MSP, as well as showing off a couple of infinites as well (he really opened my eyes and made me laugh with Iron Man as he just juggled his friend's Magneto from one end of the screen to the next and finished off with a Proton Cannon.) He was a force to be reckoned with, and made quite a few wins that day (he netted about 8 wins in a row on me with Team Scrub later that day).
The only problem was that, whenever he faced off against his friend (a fellow MSP player who showed extreme dexterity with his fingers with his Magnetic Tempest combos), he seemed to lose quite a few matches against him. Ultima and I soon learned his strategy with his MSP team, and, for a while, my own team (Mega Man, Roll and Tron Bonne), was running wild all over MSP, with Buster Shot preventing Magneto from approaching from the air and Storm from effectively using Hail Storm.
That was when he got angry and royally plastered me with Team Scrub.
It took me quite a few tries to beat that team.
A lot, actually.
What can I say? Cable with Captain Commando as an assist is BEYOND hard to approach.
His Doctor Doom/Strider Hiryu team was also a force to be reckoned with, and caused quite a few headaches, as well. Strider proved to be a lot harder to catch up to that we expected, as out of nowhere, Doom would plaster us with rocks if we got close. Ouch.
In any case, what I can say is that whiplash can talk the talk and walk the walk. Somebody, after all this time, who can really show me a thing or two about this game, and somebody I'd be more than glad to face again in the near future.
By the way, have you seen whiplash's Magneto when he goes berserk?
Not a pretty picture.
Ultima
Main Teams Played:
- MSP (sometimes varying with other characters)
Ultima, a colleague of mine who I can say is my very nemesis in this game, came in against us in this game from the start. At first, he struggled a bit (he said that he was a bit out of it since last we met) and only made a few wins here and there. Sometimes, his Psylocke's lifebar would vanish completely off of the screen and had to ask, "Wait.....I blinked, and Psylocke was gone. What happened?" Against me, though, it was pretty much even, give or take a win. One match saw me even playing Amingo to the best of my ability, an taking full advantage of his high-priority kicks and Beanstalk Super Combo.
He came back like a beast, though, and really let us have it.
He had to leave around 3 or so, but I think, if anything, he got back into the game, and felt a bit more confident about his abilities at the end of the day.
whiplash's friend (I don't think I caught his name, please correct me on this)
Main Teams Played
- MSP
I apologize in advance....so much went on that day, I forgot this guy's name.
Anyway, whiplash's friend came down from America, and wanted to find some decent challengers in MvC2, hence why this challenge even happened.
His MSP was unbelievably good. He proved to be very adept with Tempest combos, not missing a single one since I saw him on the machine. Out of everybody I faced down there, he proved to be one of the hardest to beat. As a matter of fact, I think the only times we really got to beat him was when he tagged whiplash in (sorry, whiplash....:p).
To say the least, I definitely won't mind facing this guy again.
Cool in the face of battle, and quite dexterous with buttons, to boot.
New Era Outlaw
Main Teams Played
- Mega Man, Roll and Tron Bonne
- Omega Red, Silver Samurai, Sentinel (sometimes swapping SS for Amingo)
I admit....I must have been the only player there who didn't play any variation of MSP. That's okay, though.....as I told whiplash as the arcade closed on that day, if I wanted to leave behind a legacy in this game, I'll leave behind a legacy of somebody who played and won with very unorthodox characters. Anyway.
I fared....somewhat so-so against everybody.
Mind you, I did get some decent chops in there, and even gave whiplash's MSP team some serious hell with Mega Man. (What frustrated me was that, on the 2P side, FP would catch a vaps and release the Buster Shot when I was trying to hold it down, and, as such, Sentinel and Magneto would sail over it and attack me while I was open). My Omega Red, most would agree, was pretty much high on everybody's "Terminate with EXTREME prejudice" list. Getting rid of him was like toppling over a set of dominoes, to be honest, so I made SURE he did not die in any match I played him.
Anyway....above all else, I think I've earned some respect from whiplash, and conversely, whiplash has earned a lot of respect from me. He gave me some props for using low-tiers so effectively, and I gave him props for proving to be a very good challenge. And that, my friends, is what these sweats are all about.
rb
Main Teams Played:
- MSP
rb (you know him as Geese here, I believe) stopped by and played a few games against us before he had to go. I think he and whiplash had a decent game against each other, but ultimately, whiplash felled him somewhat. rb, however, did demonstrate some improvement when last I saw him, and I think I heard him say, "Once I get the stick, your ass is mine!"
Good times. Good times.
Very good that he stopped by, and I hope when next he comes by again, he can stick around longer.
Other Things:
- Another player came by and played an even more unorthodox team than I did...namely, Jin, Felicia and Zangief. I'm sure several forumites on Shoryuken would laugh at that setup, but I didn't, (and not just because I play an unorthodox team myself) especially when Zangief PWNED whiplash's Sentinel with Air Throws and Body Splashes. Jesus Christ. Keep in mind that when that happened, Zangief had no assists, both having been killed by Cable. He could have turned that whole match around with Zangief had he had more life. Ah, well. Well done, in any case.
- The sweat lasted from 12:30PM all the way to 7:30 in the night. 7 hours of pure chaos. GOD, my leg was killing me. It was great.
- whiplash wanted to take some videos to put up on Youtube, but, unfortunately, the sunlight whited out the playback. DAMMIT.
- I had a corn soup with extra Shadow Beni in Chaguanas on the way back home. DAMN, it was good.
So, that's it. Until next time.....

"once i use MY stick your ass is mine" was the quote. Of course that'll depend on whether or not i'm playing the game at that time. If a tournament is called any time I'll definately give the practice a go.
For now its just some WoW inbetween, too many real life goals need my attention.

Hey neo, is there is ppl here worthy of challenge?
Only me and Geese (rb), to be honest.
Haven't seen anybody else here step forward since I started up these threads. Unless, of course, it's to debate about something that has nothing to do with the game at all.
