There is confirmation that a next-gen MMO is the mystery project of Blizzard's Team 3.

This is not a WoW expansion or part of Starcraft II in any way. By the process of elimination and the fact that Blizzard only makes three games... we're definitely looking at a Diablo MMO.

Starcraft's legacy is too fragile. It exists based on one game and an expansion and it was never RPG oriented. Blizzard needs a hit with Starcraft II to keep up the lofty expectations before twisting the franchise into something it never was. All Blizzard franchises will become MMO's in the end. World of Starcraft will happen eventually.

It's probably gonna be a starcraft mmo to be honest. The fantasy department in mmos is going to be very crowded in the future. Guild Wars 2,Age of Conan, Warhammer etc... While the Sci-fi themed area has no competition at all. They only thing they might get is if bioware's secret project happens to be another star wars mmo.

What i'd like is a proper RTS MMO.. Stake out a claim of land and resources in the starcraft universe and build an army to defend your race .
The standard MMO fare has bored me from very early on , the genre needs something new .

Tom Clancy's Endwar is doing this idea already. Other companies are going to see how well that does before attempting to put resources in this sort of idea.
