Let me start out by saying I'm a big halo hater but I did keep an open mind while playing and I will give an unbiased review.

Ok so I got a copy of the game on Friday. Started up the single player and I suggest anyone who is familiar with FPS on consoles should start on Heroic all the other difficulties are too easy. I quickly found out the game as very challenging even the first stage there are some pretty tough areas and situations and the enemy AI is actually quite good. Your allies AI seems on and off. Sometimes they do the best things ever and other times they just get in the way. Going through the levels there is alot of detail graphic wise and alot of variety in stages, it's no gears of war but it's pretty good. The action is divded between close quarters and vehicular combat, and it's a mixed in very nicely. I know very little about the story so I cannot comment on that and I also haven't tampered with the forge or used the playback funtionality since I don't have a HDD in my Xbox.

The new guns/items fit into the game nicely even though the atv for the humans is useless. The weapons I enjoyed the most was the gravity hammer and the flame thrower which were really fun to use, the brute spiker was also pretty decent. Now about the multiplayer, me,my bro and two of my friends sat down and played a FFA slayer on the last resort map. It's a decent map and the weapon presets fit it well but the detachable gattling guns seem to be a little overpowered. Other weapons such has the gravity hammer and plasma sword feel that way as well, even though they require melee range. It could be that we all just suck though. Also it seems that the multiplayer is designed for 8+ players, sometimes even in the smaller maps we had a hard time finding each other, even though it wasn't too common it was happening enough for us to notice it. The multiplayer felt less of a draw to me than the single, which I found to be slighter better than it. Ironically it's the muliplayer that put halo on the map.

In the end the game does have some decent changes but feels too much the same. The campaign is lengthy, even with Co-op and I finished the fight in around 12 hours or so (Co-op) not by myself, but judging from it a halo noob like me would take 16-20 hours to complete the campaign by myself, vets will probably go through in about 12. I'd give it a 8/10,(7 or 6 if it wasn't for those few additions that might be fun to toy around with) it's not worth the hype but it's a good game.

I am a big halo fan from part one. i played halo3...saw my partner finish it, saw the online multiplayer and also played a ffa with 3 players. The game is awesome to put simply. If u are a FPS gamer u would love this. This game was solely made for multiplayer gaming. The controls are a little getting used to as they changed some of the buttons but that was to facilitate and extra item they added to your inventory. I give it a 9.5 out of 10. Great game.
