THATS RIGHT FOLKS I SAID THE WORLD SERIES OF GAMING!!!!

What is this amazing event you ask? Is it myth or reality?

No, ITS REAL! Here's some brief info as quoted by Wikipedia.com

www.wikipedia.com (http://www.wikipedia.com)

The World Series of Video Games, or WSVG for short, is an international professional electronic sports competition. It held its first season in 2006, with competitions in six different games and six events held around the world including the finals of the event. The total prize purse of the season was 750,000 USD which includes the 240,000 dollar prize purse that was winnable at the finals. The WSVG is operated by Games Media Properties, an American gaming company founded in 2002.

You can read more on it...Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Series_of_Video_Games)

This event kicked off in Wuhan, China in May (http://www.ampedesports.com/news/3483/Amped-Aftermath-WSVG-China-2007/) where the games featured were some of the most popular in the world, including Warcraft III (no not dota...), CS 1.6, and suprisingly they had a World of Warcraft PVP Arena  and from the event aftermath seen at ampedsports.com its seemed to be quite an event....heres a peak at what was said in their article..

In some parts of the world it can be argued that eSports is dying, but in Asia it's hard to believe anyone could think that. With approximately 100,000 spectators crowding in over four days of action, the venue for WSVG China 2007 was packed.Security guards were busy fighting off the masses as they attempted to push their way in, but nobody could keep the screams and rushes as the popular Warcraft III players made appearances.

Security guards yes....tactical required to hold of people lol....pressura.

The event later continued, this time taking a round the world trip to Louisville Kentucky,
(http://www.thewsvg.com/news/49/) over the weekend of June 21 - 24, 2007. Winners announced in the article provided.

Last weekend the "Gaming Blockparty" came to Dallas, Texas (http://www.thewsvg.com/news/105/)....and as they say in Texas everything is big....well this party was huge...heres a sneak peak into what was stated in the article provided....

July 5th through the 8th of 2007 the World Series of Video Games held some of the most exciting video game activity the world has ever seen! Competitors came together from all around the world for this celebration of competitive gaming. Gamers of all ages, families, and friends alike heard the shouts and roars coming from the crowds gathered around each of the four stages.

The World of Warcraft tournament is garbage. Same classes are used other are excluded because arena itself is not balanced and classes themselves aren't balanced. Also the better arean teams had to forfit because they had members getting DQed because of ineligibility .

I find this not so amazing, honestly. Just another e-sports org playing different games this time around. w0w? Guitar Hero? Thas real guns oui. It seems the only thing standard between the various orgs is Warcraft III.

ANY game with multiplayer can be a tournament game, never forget that.

You never played Rock Paper Scissors or what.

Good is in the eye of the beholder. I myself hate halo, it's a dull fps with mediocre missions and some of the slowest combat I have ever come across. But that's my opinion and many, many people disagree with me. Guitar hero is a great game for those who like that kind of stuff. WoW is a great game for mmo players, but RTS and FPS lovers will call it bullshit. It's all about a person's preference.

On that note, ANY game which has fair playing field for ALL players can be used for tournaments.
