What is this amazing event you ask? Is it myth or reality?
No, ITS REAL! Here's some brief info as quoted by Wikipedia.com

The World Series of Video Games, or WSVG for short, is an international professional electronic sports competition. It held its first season in 2006, with competitions in six different games and six events held around the world including the finals of the event. The total prize purse of the season was 750,000 USD which includes the 240,000 dollar prize purse that was winnable at the finals. The WSVG is operated by Games Media Properties, an American gaming company founded in 2002.

This event kicked off in Wuhan, China in May (http://www.ampedesports.com/news/3483/Amped-Aftermath-WSVG-China-2007/) where the games featured were some of the most popular in the world, including Warcraft III (no not dota...), CS 1.6, and suprisingly they had a World of Warcraft PVP Arena  and from the event aftermath seen at ampedsports.com its seemed to be quite an event....heres a peak at what was said in their article..
In some parts of the world it can be argued that eSports is dying, but in Asia it's hard to believe anyone could think that. With approximately 100,000 spectators crowding in over four days of action, the venue for WSVG China 2007 was packed.Security guards were busy fighting off the masses as they attempted to push their way in, but nobody could keep the screams and rushes as the popular Warcraft III players made appearances.
Security guards yes....tactical required to hold of people lol....pressura.
The event later continued, this time taking a round the world trip to Louisville Kentucky,
(http://www.thewsvg.com/news/49/) over the weekend of June 21 - 24, 2007. Winners announced in the article provided.
Last weekend the "Gaming Blockparty" came to Dallas, Texas (http://www.thewsvg.com/news/105/)....and as they say in Texas everything is big....well this party was huge...heres a sneak peak into what was stated in the article provided....
