Speedswitch allows me to set my processor(mobile M) to max performance, i.e. 2ghz constatnly without throttling down..
Can this damage my notebook?
(It's ususally on 24/7)

no, if the cpu is rated at 2ghz it wont, is going beyond the rated speed your cpu is set at will cause damage more or less it like overclocking, just that your cpu underclocks it self to save pwer, which is very normal for mobile cpu

Yep @ opium.
The draw back would be reduced on time when using the battery (which Im sure you don't use as your device is on 24/7.

once u operating it at rated speed... and u not in a extremely hot room then you should not have temp issues...
unless its just bad laptop desing like the hp nx9010...

for your operations
more speed = more heat, less speed = less heat.

i'd recommend you leave it at default settings , the laptop will speed up to 2ghz when necassary ie. when playing a game / photo editing etc. so you don't really need it on all the time ,
