Well my fellow Trinigamers i have been in Newcastle since September now and needless to say it took a while for me to find the gaming scene over here. but when i did, i realised that gamers at home are no different from gamers everywhere else(meaning newcastle)
for instance, i took a walk into a GL up here. the inside is nice and actually has a java-esque feel. the only thing thats different between here and java is the accent. here the words nub, nigga,f*ck,b*tch and all other obscenities which make gaming what it is are commonplace, as well as the volume at which they are said.
the games being played are the same, dota(sigh), wow(greater sigh), but then came the CSS. not 1.6(para can smile now) as it is "outdated"(yes para i kno i kno).
one thing i did notice tho is that this cafe is a CAL spot, and there are alot of CAL teams that come here to play their games. Everything on their systems is legal and online enabled.
of course the price is based on incomes here so the prices may seem like alot.(well its alot for my cheap ass)
£5 membership
£2.80 per hour.(ouch)
but there are sweat nights which look fun, seeing that gaming and late night food is included.
i can see a gaming community here which is similar to the one at home, with different practices but the skill level that i have seen here is borderline, compared t0 the skill of the serious gamers here.
stay tuned to this thread for pictures, info and possible international links for scrims etc.
