Maybe you heard it on BBC. Maybe you didn't. BBC did temporarily report that the PC version of Halo 2 is to debut on Windows Vista. Rubbish? I think not. The article which vanished as quickly as it appeared was confirmed in a press release by Microsoft.

So even though the anxiously awaited Halo 2 offers the full single-player campaign and multiplayer maps of the original Xbox version, with the addition of the content in the Multiplayer Map Pack as well as a tool for building and customizing levels; you need Windows Vista.

And incase you were wondering, this isn't the first time Microsoft has locked out gamers from running their games in older versions of Windows.

only reason i could tink of is that "vole" needs to show that dx10 in vista is the only 3d render engine that can run halo 2

so to play halo u need dx10, to get dx10 u need vista

btw "vole" is not updating dx for older versions of windows, reasons???

back to de main topic and understanding why

btw when ppl get together and start to rip direct x apps and system to run under linux and games start to be native to linux,

it will have ah saying now "out de window!!!"
