View Full Version : Norton antivirus 2006, how do i stop it?

I have Norton antivirus 2006 installed on my pc, but as u all know it uses alot of resources... resources dat i need for gaming, cus my pc need all d help it could get.

wat i wanna know is, how do i temporarily disable its processes for gaming (offline of course).

if i try usin task manager, it says access denied...
can't use d options to disable them neither.

nebody could help in this area?

When Norton actually working properly, the options should allow you to disable the program. However, Norton always gets messed up, and things almost never work the way they should.

I say gg uninstall.
Try out NOD32 or AVG and see how those fit your needs.

but is avg or nod32 as good as or better dan norton?
one thing about norton i like is th worm protection feature, does ne of those have a similar function?

"worm protection" is a norton given name for what is commonly known as a firewall.

The 2 alternatives which I have suggested, are quite good compared to Norton which is plagued with problems. It is really hard to understand why anyone would still have a Norton Product installed on his machine.

The company used to have some good products 10 years ago so you decide to stick with them even though they knee height in crap today?

i have norton..o.O works fine here
other firewalls i know of are AVG and Zone Alarm

actually i started ti used NOD32 for about a year now, i have to say this antivirus picks up every ting, and it WILL NOT suck resources from your pc
and it works continueously in the background

well i've used avg in th past, and it works well...
as 4 d nod32 i'll give it a try.
