First AMD and ATi, now asus and gigabyte.

I was reading today and saw that article. The site is a reliable source, but the merger is not something i would really look forward to. The merge will not be a complete merge, but rather just the divisions which produce mainboards and graphics cards(but not everything else pffft).

Asus and Gigabyte have been competing with each other for many years now before many of the newer high end mainboard manufacturers. A merge like this means in the longterm, one less player on the field to make the market competitive, which translates to slower dev of tech, higher prices to end user etc. Reminds me much of when nvidia swallowed 3dfx.
