Apple's and Nike's CEO's unveiled yesterday a new product which connects Nike+ Air Zoom Moire, a new running shoe outfitted with a sensor and receiver, with an Ipod Nano. This new technology reports running data [ in real time ] and it can also track the joggers' progress.
The Nike + Ipod Sport kit will be priced around US$29.00 and will be available through the Apple Store in about three months.
On the Ipod screen, information on time, distance, calories burned and pace will be displayed. This important information to runners can also be relayed via Ipod users' headphones as they run.
The Ipod nano will also contain a software called 'The Nike + Expereince' which allows owners to program a workout. This software will be available from July 13th. While running, a woman's voice will inform runners of their progress. When the workout is done and the Ipod is synced with the runner's computer, progress is charted.
If you can incorporate time, distance and calories burned together, and make it function for both the fitness runner and the high-level athlete, it will take working out to a whole other level....
