Two weeks ago on the Yahoo Instant Messaging network a worm was found. The 'yhoo32.explr' worm found by Face Time Security Labs drops a 'Safety Browser' on the users machine, using the same icon as as Microsoft's IE Web browser and, when opened, takes users to a site that installs spyware on the PC.
The pest also sets the victim's IE home page to Safety Browser's Web site and plays looped music that cannot be stopped [How annoying!]. Additionally, when installed the worm sends itself to all of the infected user's contacts.
Also, a threat link named "Goat_Ensem Bot" with a smilely will be the disguise of the worm which will appear in the user's message box. Clicking on it will provide a warning to the user that software is about to be downloaded and can be malicious.
To protect your self, simply do not click on unexpected or unsolicited links...
