there is a good bit of extra footage.i didnt really check the amt..but the extended versions really cleared up some stuff that would or maybe would have been ah bit confusing to first time viewers..

well lets see..in the begining of the first movie they introduced Hobbits and the culture of hobbits..they showd Bilbo writing his book...it was really nice as a introduction..there was also a part in the second movie where they showed boromir and farimir who were brothers..they showed how boromir ended up in the fellowship of the ring and he was really sent there to get the ring and bring it back for his father in Gondor..am..the girl that liked Aragon not the elf..lol..the one from rohan.well after she get blank from Aragon they showed that she ended up wit Farimir. in the second movie i think it was..wen the fellowship reach the elfs..she gave all of them special gifts..thats where frodo got the light that help him fought out the spider.she also gave sam elf rope and each one of them a cloak..in the normal version if u were observant u wud be like where d hell they all got the same elf cloak from..another added part was in the last movie..where gandalf was fighting in Gondor in the normal version his staf magically disappears lol..well i mean u didnt see his staf was not wit him wen he was fighting and they didnt show us waht happened to it..well in the added scene the king of the Nasgoul shattered it..this is just a little of teh added scenes there are a bit more..as i said if u want them i have them..u cud get it..
