the server have a community of men that does sweat together everyone slowly but surely improvin some men just well them is noobs...the pure definition not that i know any.
but we all start off at a starting point in a game if you cant improve from it then put a man on the list i yet to see one man on server that hasnt impoved his game by atleast 5%.

my personal solution to noob problem = play in private games only with ppl u know. that way i know if i lag for a 5 secs or do a shit play,i wudnt see the screen filled to capacity with r-rated words and insults. that way i doh hadda deal with men like soldier who does drop all d time :) or the men who does rush roshan at level 2 -_-

and since it is apparently a mortal sin to be a noob/lag/sell guns etc,why not go to the extreme and ban all the noobs.leave only the 'gosu' men to sweat on the server.

Xe the main problem with some ppl on the server is that they DO NOT want to learn, they refuse to listen. There are some players that DO listen though and they will elevate their skill.

I have been lending some advice on the basics and they seem to be helping, Jerry creep denying!!!!. In the heat of a game, esp if you are loosing you tend to say things in the heat of the moment and I have buffed up some ppl that didn't deserve it.

I profess Toro can rally the n00bs. The man is a natural dota squad commander, even when he has n00bs on his side he makes them move like a unit. Kudos Toro Ra RA RAA!!. Toros strong point in this is his tollerance towards the n00bs, something many good players can't handle. Wish more of the good players can learn from that.

ANYWAYS
We discussed the banlist topic somewhat at the meeting on Sunday. We are going to start a new banlist based on information from the users. The admin team will of course have the last say as to what is actually entered into the list.

The list will drive an application that will aid in weeding out laggers, leavers and attempt to balance a team based on skill. The application will depend on the input of trusted players (like vax, mgr, veg) to give a player a rank 1-10 as well as identifying laggers/leavers. Using this information hosts will be guided as to how fair or how lag free their games will be.

I will also look at matching techniques in later versions to track players as they move from alias to alias.

hey, since ice frog introduced refs/obs in the game, i'll see how well my machine hosts a game (my pops machine relly screwed up one theother day even though we have dsl). and once i can host lag free games, i'll attempt to take one of the beginner type players and try to guide them through the game. :cool:
sometimes 'noobs' have the ability to play extremely well once they are 'coached' right...the problem lies in they not being able to perform when the coach isn't there... :confused:

How about one of you wizards write a rating program. Some one does caca, he can be rated by everyone in that game, and the complaint will be sent to a higher power to moderate and approve/deny action against the player in question. Apart from that, a rating system could be enforced as well. Where players who win, rank up, which can be denoted by stars or something of that nature.

That's how it's done xbox live, and it works fine.

Not that it affects me (i dont play dotA online anymore and when i do it's private games ftw) but i think that the banning thing is going a bit far. That is,if people know who are the noobs and laggers,then why play with them in the first place? If u see a known lagger/noob join a game,then leave or ask host to kick.Doesnt make sense going through all that just to curse and get on like a wild man when the person lag/do sh!t.

Are you, the host afraid to kick ? Please, don't be :)

Well 'Andro'. No one sle wantsed to add. So I just followed up where 'Para' left off. And yes, 90% of the server are n00bs. This brings me to my next point. What is a n00b? Now many people probably have the wrong idea of what a n00b really is and what it does.

The average gamer would think a n00b is defined by your kills to death ratio. This is not so as many other factors contribute to the deeming of one as n00b. N00bism, [ lol ] has alot to do with your builds [item wise of course], your team work, your creeping style [ the denying of creeps along with the timing when you kill your opponents creeps ] , your reaction to situations [ eg. a team member being attacked and because you afraid to die you run ] ,and your ability to notify others on your team about when men are missing [ all falling under team work, yes ]. These are jus a few. The kills to death ratio is most irrelevant untill it gets ridiculous [ eg . 0 - 10 <--wtf!! ]

All these factors were taken into place when making the list above. I don't do these things perfectly, none of us do... Don't hate. I'm just trying to make the server a better place :(
