more thread activity, 'tech talk' is really good here, as is 'ole talk', but the other forums nned to get some gas.
Mods should go through news section and see which news submissions will make good threads for discussion.
Anime forum need to get some action as well, hardly anything goes there lately. ( i know this might be touchy since we are partnered with an anime forum in TriniTaku )

I suggested that we redirect all anime requests to trinitaku, so its a matter of waiting for that implementation. As for the other sections, I agree work needs to be done. Got any ideas on how we can get content there?

dedicate mods to specific forums and let them select about 5 various websites that deal with topics that will be good for there forum.

eg. entertainment and movies, IGN filmforce has some good photos for almost all upcoming movies, and you could cross reference with a site like IMDB which has alot of background info on almost all movies ever made, how else could someone learn that Omega Red is in X3 lol, and after checking here see what's up on rotten tomatoes (can't remember their URL) since they have some really good critics.
so it's a 3 part job, Get Photos, Get info, Get professional opinion. after that, leave the floor open for the members to make some input and the discussions will take off from there.

Hey well i thought of something that we could organise as a new step.What yall think about having a section dedicated to downloads of replays of WC and Source from our past tourneys?I know we dont have much but since we will be hopfully having both source and WC tourneys soon we could make sure to record them and have the replays available for download.I dunno if ytall thought bout it yet but if not at least consider it.

Scar and dinesh have already sourced a program to handle the FT reps, source reps will not be presented in as formal a manner as the FT.

NB: Tourneys were run on earlier versions of the respective games which require the earlier version to play them ie if you wanna watch em downgrade.

how about an unreal 2004 server? its a great FPS that will work on dialup , a local host will work wonders for their latency , but we'll need to find someone with a big upload.. or t1.
Its the closest thing to battlefield 2 or Battlefront that won't kill people's connection / machines ...
Full version can fit on 1 dvd once hacked a bit .

I read something there about tourney replays that included source? That's a damn good idea and i think it would help improve the overall standard of Java gamers. Well, to those who would actually USE it in any event. I'm always looking for ways to improve my game, and seeing past mistakes woul help out a lot. :kakashi4:

We do need more themes, we do need more arcade games (at least I do) and we need more tourneys. What was the last tourney Java had...DotA. That was a few months back. What has happened since then...the WoW effect. People only want to play WoW all day, every day. True, people can do what they want with their time and money. However, if people really want to see some change and some tourneys, just talking about other games and asking for respective tourneys doesn't make too much sense. Neither will asking for a game of CS:Source, DotA, or occasionally CoD 2 out of the blue just for the sake of playing something different.

I have heard certain people "high in the chain of command" so to speak, mention wanting to host BF(2), CS tourneys etc. The way I see it now, it's all talk...

well its cool playing all the games and what not, but i think there should be a little section with the availability of games locally ( with price comparisons ). I know kaizen has made a post on games and what not, but i dont think it mentions availability. Not all of us have access to buying games from online and honestly, cdrom library rell effing expensive. If you guys can link up us gamers to games at better prices that will also be cool.

3/4 of the latest games coming out on conole anyway,and pc upgrading gettin rediculous with the amount of stuff u hadda do...

my suggestion would be to buy consoles, ps3/xbox360 for ur hardcore games....if you more into rts then u can upgrade that with the cost of a ps3(400USD), but it would be outclassed in 3 months with the development of a newer better card...

how u wud get them to do that upgrade would be hard...tell dem the new office programs need more ram, and u need to use photoshop so u want a videocard for that, plus u do some video editing etc so that is better for you

for console, if u have a hdtv say that he ps3 has blu ray, it cud be used to surf etc, u cud use it as ur work device for office etc when running linux on it, and u can use it as a media device also....dont mention dat it could play games :P

380-450 is much more affordable than the 700 playstation games used to cost back in the day. pc games are 300+ as well, and i dont think 450 is an unreasonable amount to save, sacrifice one for the other. $380 is roughly 12-15 kfc meals...if youwat someting that bad then its worth the sacrifice.

and arch dont knowif you've played unrel 3 on ps3 with keyboard and mouse, it rocks...and with controllers like the splitfish fragx u get mouse and nunchuck like controller that works perfectly as well...

i think you'll find this rounds that pc diehards would get turned toward console due to its graphical and processing power, along with some pretty cool games....imagine, the PC is the LAST platform that developers care about this gen, an most games get released LAST on PC...a toal reverse from the trends of the ps2/gamecube generation.
