ok it had a debate in my classroom today....on who wud have won in the world war 2 era ...america or germany (forget about russia , england and japan etc)but 1 on 1 perspectivly ...who wud have owned...

i said germany but clearly my classmates dunno nuttin bout ww2...
so i need to if is dem or is jus me being a patriot.....

i beg to differ...germany didnt have the cross-atlantic strength that america had..

america needed it to be able to go into the war while the blitzkreig strategy taken by the germans wouldnt have worked because they would have had to transport all of those tanks across the atlanti..or pacific...

think of it. put it on a small scale and think...because then the entire german war machine would have had to build transport boats which in ww11 days were VERY vulnerable.

one pearl harbour-like attack could have killed out the whole fleet

actually the germans had already had a plan to deal with the americans..
1) a long ranged bomber that can reach them from europe
2) a stronger and btr type of v2 rocket

there were stuff under progress to deal with the states but they were stalled cuz of a series of bombings......

and the bismark and scarchost(howeva u spell it) wud have owned.....

rat...those bombers could make one trip with the gas and couldnt turn back so das suicide bomb planes dere.

even tho hitler eh care bout his men he care bout his forces being depletd...

and most of U.S operations were centre of america and were shipped to he bases on the coast so them bombers wasnt lmakin sense anyway...

the subs used by the americans were more advanced than the german subs. the only thing the germans had was the enigma code and guess what!!! america broke it (with the help of finding a machine)

if these things were READY they would have been used @ some point during the war.

if you talking USA and GERMANY then Japan and europe out of the question too, so the germans would have had to put up with an added naval and aerial presence from the once Pacific fleet, which would have all the Battleships destroyed in Pearl Harbor. on land however, the Germans would have an undeniable advantage.

actually america did not have ah very good role in the wwii against germany

it was england doing most of the pushing

while russia doing damage to germany

only until the incident at pearl harbour that is when america took fight

but japan was the major threat to america,

if the pearl harbour incident was not rush and had gone according to plan

the axis would have won the war

the japanese role was to keep america at bay, be a threat but not force them to fight back

when europe was take then it was to america, the plans for the bombs was indeed development, hence why america was not attacked byt the germans

hitler had very good plans, but it was the japanese fault

wwii didnot start at 1942 it was 1938, only in 1942 the american joined in and it ended at 1944

Germany would have won simply because of the aircraft that they were developing. They were developing newer and better models of the He-162.(Jet powered aircraft) but they had to abandon that because of the ending of the war. Germany also had new V weapon which was more or less an artillery gun on crack which had to be mounted and fired from the side of a mountain. Germany only lost to the Russians because of the Russian winter. Anyways, Germany was also developing an atomic bomb,so it wudda been 'gg no re' for america. (if u doubt anything i post here,go and research). T'is all for now

if germany did attack american soil , america would have won , the entire nation would have been more committed to the goal of stopping germany ,
if america had to invade german soil on its own it would have taken a few decades... people would have been bitchy and the war movement would have lost its drive... likely they would have signed a treaty and given germany time to build up with an entire europe of resources , and hitler would have invaded again and probably pwned the US ..... might have resulted in a nuclear war at that point .
Basically germany had the will to conquer the planet but lacked the resources and time in WWII , the US at the time was more powerfull but afraid of war .

american hardly made it into germany, it was the battles in france poland and other countires. russia did the attcking into germany

not we look at the new super powers in the new world, germany dont have the resources again, russia is getting too poor

IT would have been no simple task to conquer the states ,if germany DID attack america the most they would have done is take a few coastal states before bieng pushed back ,
the americans would have conscripted millions to fight and bombed the hell out of the german positions , plus every step of the way the germans would have had to worry about civilians sabotaging their equipment and attacking them .

uhhhhhh germany waz already in progress of the atomic bomb...it never finished simply cuz of the french resistance and constant bombings from england anf america.....
they already had the resources to build them...

and even tho the long ranegd bombers had to crash land in water for U- boats to pick the guys up ..they still would have bombed the sh!t out of america ...and i dnt think hitler wud be stupid to invade america on land without weakening their war effort first ...just like they did germany..in real....

so the fact is and its clear that 1 on 1 germany vs america ww2 germany would have won.....(without the interferance with other countries....)
and if any 1 watched D CLASSIFIED on history channel they would have know what hitler rly wanted to doo....his goal was america ...so he would have done everthign in his power to pwn them...]

p.S america woudnt even expect the invasion from germany cuz they wernt even in the war as yet :).

We need a padna of mine who did history in the US with a very liberal lecturer... plus all the books on war he reads... just a few things I remember from talking to him.
1. America was a real bastard in WWII and little know how much double sided deals went on. America basically sold weapons to EVERYONE and only took interest when Germany took most of Europe.

2. Japan went to war against the US cause it had no choice left. It was forced into battle. The US basically cut their supplies off because Japan was invading CHINA. I bet MOST ppl doh even know that fact. In FACT Japan made a SIGNIFICANT in road into Mainland China before the chinese could stop them. The US didn't like that idea (kinda like the Germany Europe thing cause world dominiation is their thing) ;).

3. The Japanese could have crippled the US even more if they really wanted to. Did u know they developed bombers that could launch from Submarines? (watch the history channel). They were gonna bomb the living CRAP outta the panama cannal but LAST MINUTE (almost literally) called it off and they turned into suicide bombers on a US naval fleet.

4. The US watched London BURN and watched millions of Russian soldiers dying and would have CONTINUED to WATCH hadn't Japan bit them in the @$$ literally :P Oh and there is Israel... do you have ANY idea how much MONEY the Jewish community in the US have and had back then??? and well we know Hitlers disposition for Jews...

5. Yeah germany was in development of the atomic bomb as well. See other guys post.

So with that in mind, if I had to answer the question of who would have won... well i'd bet on US but i'd say germany had a hell of a chance ESP if they were the ones who exploited Pearl Harbour and not he Japanese. Imagine a lil country like that accomplished soo much with so few resources. Germany on the other hand was the mechanical engine of Europe. They could have easily steamrolled over the US if they were closer by. Ah that blessed atlantic ocean.

id say america would have won. yes the germans where way more advanced in terms of their tanks planes ect ect. but for eveyr 1 german tank manufactured america made 10. America had the backing of the automobile industry, they made cheaper and quicker tanks, yes it took like 5 of americas tanks to take out 1 TIGER but then when its a 10 to 1 ratio who cares rite, its simple maths

Well Bush that may be true but now consider that Germany had the jump on the US like Japan did. Think of it, suppose Germany bombed Pearl Habour and invaded the US, they would have fallen... yuh know its true. The germans would have jus swept across the US like a cold front from canada.

1) germany WAS developing atomic weapons
2) germany was in the war for over 5 years when america started fighting
3) germany was fighting a land war on two fronts
4) germany had better weapons
5) germany HAD the better tanks AND tactics
6) america gay
7) america had a secure manufacturing sector, germany's was bombed out in 1943
8) america had 3 allies on the western front (france, england, canada)
9) america built up for 4 years before they started on the ground in europe
10) germany pwned all in the atlantic ocean
11) germany had a working jet (*air superiority iymc*)

anyways.....
america won cus they had allies like rain.....
