i figured it's time people decide on which mobile service provider they should side with for reasons ither than "TSTT is MC thief!", so take a couple minutes to read this article on the advanges and disadvantages with CDMA and GSM. CDMA is the platform being used by Laqtel. of course you must keep in mind that this is just 1 article and just the opinion of 1 group, there are bound to be others who both agree and disagree.

thats cool yo ..

i think the better comparison would be digicel or laqtel :D :D

who stayin with tstt ? :P

i prefer laqtel for one reason .. thier local
instead of giving our money to some forienger , i prefer to some local guys rich ... atleast that way the money would stay in the country, and in the long run generate a higher GDP

lol... i hear the ads

SMART CHOICE = Rip off

My bill is coming ridiculiously high since i put in smartchoice gold wen i was not under smart choice everything was cool but now geez

I make relatively the same amount of calls i only call land lines for the unlimited, i call mobile just as b4 smart choice (important or emergency only and i don't stay long) , now i resort to calling mobile from my mobile.

TSTT jus SUxx

and its not just me my friend b/f told her the same was happenig took off his package..

smart choice is not for everyone, i have it and it working well so far. Oats, your mistake was making the same amount of mobile calls as b4, use your own cell if you hadda call mobile.

ok lemme tell you all something

though i maite get flamed, the SMARTEST thing to do would be to stay to TSTT .

my reasons are......

1. when the population of trini "never see come see" customers rush to Digicel or Laqtel, the load on tstt systems would be decreased, an therefore us tstt ppl would have better service

2. when Digicel and Laqetl are up and running, you think you gonna want to use ur Digicel or Laqtel phone to call a tstt person?? hello no...because the charge between companies is gonna be so expensive that the whole idea would be dumb

the best bet is to get phones and phone numbers from each company and get callls in network for each company....but that would cost quite a bit of money and i dont think the population would want to carry around 3 phones all of the time....

Not to mention roaming...

I dont want to give up GSM atm, CDMA could haul. Is there a CDMA p910/900/800?

yeah the CDMA phone selection IS kinda gay....GSM is used worldwide....i feel that laqtel is a more niche market though....and btw it is going to be run temporarily by foreign people...who have experience in the 'breaking in' of the mobile phone market

how i see it in the years to come

Laqtel-mobile solutions for business and the emergence of virtual wireless private networks between businesses and businessmen

Digicel- the '' in" people...always cool and hip with the young crowd. Expect to see GREAT "in network" deals

TSTT-Improved service...experience and cheap phones...expect landline-TSTT cell phone rates to drop and see cheaper "in network" rates...also expect to see harsh rates between TSTT and Digicel, representative of Cable and Wireless's regional resentment over the loss of their monopoly( and exploitation of the black man lol)
TSTT-Laqtel howevr would have a better relationship...epect to see TSTT CDMA and cheaper rates between TSTT and Laqtel phones. This is because Laqtel is erally targeting businessmen and Tstt is targeting the rest of trinidad

expect alot more towers and a greater cancer risk

expect the phasing out of the now-stone age TDMA system

expect alot of reshuffling of TSTT personell

expect alot of smiling customers

expect ALOT more corruption

hmmm this remind of aol

:P

i feel seriously tstt will indeed have better stuff in the future

depending on ntwork i will have to say gsm

u could change cell and change sims with ease

but we might see some weird alocation of minute usage

call "in network" 1 min cost

call "out netowrk" 2 min cost

like mc long disitance oui and u calling yuh neighbour :(
