SNK Playmore seems to be getting their acts together. Their newly released arcade fighters are getting rave reviews from the fighting game community.
Samurai Shodown Tenka, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum and King of Fighters XI are all getting favourable responses from Japan's arcadegoers which is a very good sign for the company.
What's even better is that all 3 of these titles will be hitting the PS2 by Xmas 2005 and every title will be online compatible. Samurai Shodown Tenka which was released last week in arcades has been listed @ lik sang's website for PS2 preorder for more than a month. All 3 games are under consideration for SBO4 ( japan's biggest tournament) which is surely a good sign of the popularity.
Consoles will see KOF Maximum Impact 2, the sequel to SNK's biggest console money maker thus far KOF Maximum Impact. At the Tokyo Game Show it was revealed the KOF Maximum Impact 3 is in production for the XBOX 360 and PS3. The Orochi Saga of KOF and Last Blade collections will also see releases on the PS2 all online enabled and sporting arranged soundtracks.
Metal Slug 2, X and 3 are headed to the gameboy advance. MS6 was also unveiled and should be heading to consoles within 6 months of it's arcade release.
The biggest news out of SNK is the release of KOF: Another Day. KOF AD will be a short anime series consisting of 4 episodes that will be shown during the winter season in japan. Confirmed for the series thus far are Kyo, Iori, Ash Crimson, Mai, K', Ralf, Clark, Athena and.....Rock Howard. The animation is being produced by Production IG who did the Ghost in the Shell series, Blood the Last Vampire and the animated sequences from Kill Bill.
