OK!!
seeing that noone wants to post an event report .. i guess i'll get it started :)
the tourney was real sweet , imo, best tourney we had for the summer, right up there with the CS-S tourney
level of skill shown through out the tourney was very high, real gosuness to craw !!
things got off to a slow start .. with yours truly rumbo rolling in late , like around 11:15 .. and nothing start yet .. .hmm
little after 12, the format was decided, 2 groups, round robin style , top two teams from each group advance to semis , then finals .. i hope loki still has the listings of the groupings so he can post it
after that it was a mad feeding frenzy for top dog ! :D lol
i cant report on most of the games , as i had no way of seeing all of them , but my games were pretty cool, .. little annoyed at loosing to boyo+chaos , after owning them for most of the game, but small ting .. props to them on a great come back
would have liked to played my match vs tenchi+wing, two old skool buddies from back in my TGS days .. oh well ( they had to leave early )
after all was said and done, the team advancing to the semis were -
Group A
Vlad + Khalid
Tenchi + Wing
Group B
SilverHawk + Box lunch
Nailes + Anderson
because tenchi and wing had to leave, the third place team from both groups had a play off for the spot - Redprince+ tyrant vs Chicken+Heat
( tyrant had to leave too, so jinx took his place)
i didnt see the match ( was getting food ) but redprince and jinx took the spot
Semis - Hawk and Box made quick work of the R+T team , only needing two maps to complete the victory .. great work
Nailes and Anderson however, were faced with the Muslim Mafia .. lol
khalid and vlad (dual NE ) took on N+A ( und + hum ), falling in the first game to a well executed tower rush on khlalid
vlad fought for a long time to try and salvage a victory but it was not to be
Second match, after much deliberation on strategies, V+K switched to Und+orc , and hit back at Nailes/anderson combo, owning them in a great match on LT , setting up an intense third map finale
Third match - V+K decided to stick to the same strat , und+orc. which coud have paid off , but unfortunately some poor scouting did them in .. Nailes went for all or nothing ... doing his patented no altar, no crypt fast tech ruch to necros strat
nailes was not properly scouted and was left to go about his busniess with no pressure from the opposing team .. alas .. when they went in his base it was too late ... :( .. gg V+K
