Warcraft is to micro as EE is to macro!
THats what I gather by reading the review on toms hardware.

EE2 reminds me so much of Age of Empires... you battle 'increase age' get new tech. However EE2 allows you to go further... you can go into the modern age and beyond!!!

I added some screenshots of both the micro and macro views.

I have been a big fan of this game i actually use to have to beg people to play with me in sns ... After a while i saw that it had caught on, yes the game is to macro when it comes to the scale of the economy and battle sequences.. Lol i guess thats what gives it its real world scenario who really controls the economy of a country ehh and determines how a war would really play out.. I am looking forward to getting my hands on this game i think it has a world scenario similar to RISE of NAtions where i am still looking for someone to challenge me in that game lol

That'll be a while from now dont you think Shadow? He's an ole skool.I never liked this game to be quite honest because of the macro factor. It takes too much.Too much clicking, too much building, too much gathering resources, too much defending ur a$$ from oponents from any and every direction and especially too much teching.I gues prefferance is everything after all but I really cant handle that stuff.Plus I've seen many a pc crash to the hands of this game due to lag.A game to be feared

I remember watching men like Freeze and Arch and the rest of them playing EE. Was a real nice game, esp. as you could proceed through the ages and specifically upgrade whatever you wish.

I like strats. like these but Arch and them was just too stink to bother playing against :P

EE was a very good game, but it got no support :/
I played beta and first few months after release but it was way to imbalanced and buggy, pluss the matchmaking service blew...

And if you played tourny mode(which everyone I knew did) macro was less then aok2 by a good deal, and you rarely saw poeple go up more then 2-3 tiers.
But all the ages made for some good variety when you used random epoch :)... and well alot of the old age experts played it, the community was pretty fun, though tiny.
