If it did close down, it lasted pretty long.

Well vz was in a weird phase for a long time and if they are closed.. i doubt it was due to cash until recent . I have a lot of roots VZ cuz i have been goin there from very young and a lot of their employees are friends of mines from the area. Vz was goin really well when they had the interest of the gamers .... then they shun us for a little while and they tried other gimic then they allowed leeron to set up and run a console business which was goin well for a while i guess . Idk ... a lot of us stopped goin because other than the ridiculous price increases it no longer felt like a local gaming home .

Anyway I hope the manager and other employees are doin well . The gavin and that other fair skinned guy ... Forgot his name ... HAvent been to vz in a while anyway. The fair skinned guy is a really good guy and I hope they aint go bankrupt or anything . I go hata check the local vines to find out what goin on with the business and the old employees to see what really goin on. Hopefully they moving because I have a lot of roots there , especially gaming , thats pretty sad news to wake up to.

I passed there just last night and I noticed that. Wow.

To concur, I always did wonder how mall patrons made out in the long run, because that rent is seriously expensive. I'm actually suprised that VZ was one of the first I've seen to close down, since it seemed to have a lot more traffic coming in than the other places.

IMO the day of cafe's are numbered. With the availability of cheap broadband connections more people have decided to play online from home.

Most cafes' will not survive without really offering a difference in the quality of services provided. The weak will fall and the strong will survive.

never set foot in the place, never really needed to. para is right though, with broadband options all over the place now, why bother with a cafe?

Unless this is a NEW TV I wouldn't recommend buying it. Equipment used by cafe's usually sustain more wear (more hours running) than those used by a regular user. This translates to reduced lifetime. There are some exceptions like CPUs and some videocards.

On average I think a regular cafe user can make back the investment put out in under a year. At the end of the year if you balance off you have an added asset a PC of your own. The problem is making the initial investment and loosing the socialism associated with cafe's.

I concur with both Laruto and Paradoxxx. Internet cafes seem pretty redundant given the abundance of options available to people now.

Internet? Free at your nearest library. Online gaming? Cheap broadband from the comfort of your own home. Competitive gaming? X-Box LIVE and the PSN network. It seems like the only thing they might have going for them still is PC Repair services and a venue to host tournaments, but, all the same, it seems like a lot of the services formerly dominated by cafes are getting trumped by the alternatives.
