The great virus myth that Apple perpetuated has finally been brought to a harsh end. Most Mac users do not use any form of anti-virus or anti-malware. Social engineering was the starting point where they had proof of concept. When hackers infected over 100,000 Wordpress blogs with their Flashback (Flashfake) malware the number of infections more than doubled.

Apple's response has been to disable their Java plugin weeks after the malware was first detected on April 4th. They have also provided a removal tool. However this has done little to reduce the number of infections. The majority of which are in key markets. USA 56%, Canada19.8% and the UK 12.8%.

The Mac has been hit hard and brought down to its knees. People use to say their Mac could never get infected, guess know they have to think twice
