Microsoft has recently announced their entry into the Tablet Market with the Microsoft Surface / RT. They claim its going to be competitive to other tablets out there, however not much is yet known of the product. From the little seen so far, this Windows 8/Rt tablet looks to be a strong contender.

(that flip out keyboard looks really interesting)

I think Microsoft is really late to the party once more.

Android and IOS own this space and you have to come really good to break through.

Well IOS is only available on Apple products. For everything else there's Android. The default operating system for all mid-range to ghetto tablets.

While M$ didn't invent the tablet, thay had a software feature comparable product years before Apple.

Apple did have a pen device out long before M$ but was little more than a toy.

i think they will do ok in the market, their strength seems to lie in the OS, lets face it, one of the first things you find yourself really needing to do on any tablet is access your MS Office docs
