World of Warcraft: Legion has been announced as the next expansion in Blizzard’s popular MMORPG series.
Revealed at Gamescom, Legion will continue from where Warlords of Draenor ended, Archimonde and Gul’dan have been defeated but Khadgar isn’t convinced that this is the end. A cinematic revealed Gul’dan approaching what appeared to be a trapped Illidan, who seems to be the main figure in this expansion.
Legion will introduce a new continent called the Broken Isles, where players will battle the Burning Legion at the Tomb of Sargeras in what is revealed by the developers to be the largest invasion of Azeroth by the Legion.
Also new to Legion is the introduction of the first hero class since Wrath of the Lich King’s Death Knight – The Demon Hunter. This class is modelled on fan favorite Illidan and his Illidari followers and will allow players to transform into various demonic figures.
The expansion also raises the level cap to 110 and adds a new PVP Honor System which essentially adds a talent system offering various bonuses. The new Prestige ranks will allow players to reset your rank and level it again for cosmetic rewards.
World of Warcraft Legion is expected to enter beta later this year.
