The DOTA 2 International Championship has become the highest e-Sports prize pool in history. Standing at $18,004,354 US Dollars, the International has once again broken its previous record of $10.9 million set in 2014.
16 Teams will compete this year for a chance to make it to the Finals on Saturday 6th August.
The winning team will win $6,481,567, followed by second at $2,790,675 and third at $2,160,522. Here’s the full prize breakdown.
The prize pool is funded by sales of the Dota Compendium, an interactive digital tournament companion that costs $9.99 with 25 per cent of its total sales going towards the International’s prize.
