Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata Has Passed Away


Nintendo has announced that their President, Satoru Iwata has passed away from a bile duct growth, he was 55 years old.

Iwata joined Nintendo in 2000 and succeeded Hiroshi Yamauchi in 2002 as President of Nintendo. Under his leadership, Nintendo saw great success with the Nintendo DS handhelds and Wii consoles becoming global phenomenons. He was also well known to Nintendo fans from his appearances on their Nintendo Direct broadcasts and his interview series “Iwata Asks.”
