Trinigamers Anime Review: 11 Eyes

0

This is article 1 of my new Bi-weekly review of anime (maybe more, we shall see) that I have had the pleasure of spectating. Just for some background, I’ve watched over 200 different anime titles(still watching some atm). Of course, this doesn’t mean that I am an expert on the stuff, but i am here to give my opinions on the ones that I have seen. I will try to do these reviews in order starting from A – Z, and well ofc the random ones that begin with a number, such as:

11 Eyes

Genres: Romance, Ecchi, Action, Supernatural, Comedy, Drama

Story: 5/10

I’ll just write the general outline of the anime; Kakeru Satsuki and Yuka Minase (seemingly normal childhood friends) are transported to a dark world with a red moon, where they are attacked by strange beings. They escape and hope that it will never happen again, which of course it does. They meet up with four other people that are going through the same thing as them and thus they group together in order to survive and solve the mystery of the dark world.

Seemingly okay story, the problem is that the anime sets itself up to be pretty decent and then falls flat on its face. The explanations given in the anime of what is going on left too many plot holes in the story to be called explanations. They actually just make you ask more questions. The supposed bad guys go through large amounts of trouble in order to kill them only for it to turn out that they shouldn’t have. I generally got the idea that no one thought out this anime after the first episode. I’d actually give this less for story, but it was an interesting idea, so i won’t.

Art: 6/10
The art is the typical shounen anime art style, nothing memorable to really rate this higher.

Sound: 6/10
The opening and ending songs weren’t that memorable either, but the general background music did do well to set the tone.

Character: 4/10
I think this is what really made this anime fail. We have the main character, useless for around 7 episodes or so, and i have no problem with that because he was striving to become stronger through training. But then we have his insane childhood friend/lover (and I must say throughout the entire anime I honestly disliked her character) constantly misinterpreting everything she sees and in general causing more trouble than helping.

The epic female character that was helping them in the beginning suddenly becomes weak for no other reason than to make the main char look good and the 3 other chars just literally fall off or die stupidly.

Enjoyment: 4/10
As i said earlier, this anime could have been pretty good, what it turned out to be was confusion, annoying childhood friend cliche, terrible explanations of plot and a terrible ending

Overall:
I’m not saying don’t watch it, but I will recommend that if you do, be prepared to be thoroughly pissed and dissapointed for most of the series.
