The end of Wintersday is near, beginning January 21st the new patch will be relased ‘The Origins of Madness’!  Will this be the end of the Scarlet Briar saga?

The Origins of Madness

The description given for this teaser trailer is ‘The heroes of Tyria face a battle on two fronts, attacked by a giant wurm from beneath the Bloodtide Coast and a twisted marionette in the mountains of Lornar’s Pass. Prepare to take up arms, join with your friends and fellow heroes, and fight off the rising threats.’ Besides that description not much information is being released for this patch update. From the video that was released it appears that this will be Scarlet Briar’s last stand as she creates a giant mechanized version of herself.

Even though much information isn’t being given on this release this update marks the end of the Living Story Season 1. The Living Story refers to the new updates which occurs every two weeks and the Origins of Madness mark the end of this story arc. As seen from Colin Johanson’s Year End review  ”Our first release in the new year will be on January 21 as we begin our countdown to the end of this story arc. We’ll use the longer break to spend extra time to ensure that our final four releases are as polished and exciting as possible.’ With the end of this story arc near, what releases can we look forward to in 2014?

And maybe this release will explain what these things are

World vs World

Not much news is being given about World vs World. Previously I missed mentioning this, but in early December, Arenanet changed how servers will be matched up in World vs World.  Instead of high tier servers going up against lower tier servers, it has been changed so servers within the same points range will be play against one another. This full explanation can be seen here. Here’s the current matchup for this week.

Local Community News

If you live in Trinidad & Tobago then you’re familiar with the saying, ‘No matter where you go, you’ll find a Trini’ and in Guild Wars 2 it’s no different. Across on Sea of Sorrows King Krumm and Desoblade are making a name for themselves as ‘Master of the Ruins’  roaming them at random hours killing any unfortunate player or havoc groups that make the mistake of passing by. You’ll have to open the image larger to see the messages, but if you do you’ll see that people from the opposing server know quite well the Male Charr Engineer that camps the ruins!

Xdarkblade sent in this picture of a bug he encountered. While in WvW assaulting a keep using his thief he shadowstepped into a Fortified Wall :S

That’s all for this week. Looking forward to seeing what 2014 will bring us in terms of updates and patches. As always feel free to join the Guild Wars 2 Trinidad and Tobago Group to connect with other local players.

Looking forward to seeing you in game,
Angry Fig
