Why should you buy siege weapons in World vs World ?

BECAUSE SIEGE WEAPONS ARE CRUCIAL to progress on a map! For those of you who have experienced World vs World, how many times have you come upon a tower or a keep and no one has a Flame Ram to knock down a door. Or there’s no Arrow Cart available to discourage enemey invaders/defenders? It happens constantly and players are unwiling to buy siege weapons. Siege Weapons costs ranges from 6 silver to 24 silver. Even though some might see this as ‘expensive’, when used correctly, siege weapons can help turn the tides of a battle very easily. Let’s explore each Siege Weapon and determine if its worth spending silver on.

One thing to note with Siege Weapons which people always seem to forget. Once you place a siege weapon, it CANNOT be moved again. So think carefully where you are placing it. Also, it is very important that you and your allies ALWAYS have supply. It is frustrating when you put down a siege weapon and its partially built because no one else in your group has any supply.

    Flame Ram
The flame ram is the battering ram that is used to knock down doors. It deals a MASSIVE amount of damage (approximately 8000 damage to a door) compared to just using skills and auto attack on doors. If you’re in a group and you intend on taking down an enemy keep or a tower, a flame ram is heavily advised to carry. If there are two flame rams operating on a door, the door will fall in less than 5 minutes (that’s 16,000 damage every 15 seconds)

The flame ram costs 6 silver or 6 badges of honour. It also takes 40 supply to build. When placing the Flame Ram ensure it is DIRECTLY in front of the door or else it will be useless.

    Arrow Cart
The arrow cart is a weapon that fires in a large area. It is effective against enemy players and NPCs, not against walls or doors. It can damage, bleed or cripple targets in an area. It is an excellent weapon when defending a tower or keep and it can be even used offensively to keep enemy invaders away from a particular area. e.g. To discourage them from standing above the door where your allies are operating a flame ram.

The arrow cart costs 6 silver or 6 badges of honour. It takes 30 supply to build.

    Ballista
The ballista is a single target weapon that deals massive damage to enemy players. Even though it is a single target weapon, if there are any other enemies in the near proximity, they will be hit as well. A ballista can take down a target in two hits. When using a ballista, how it is placed is very important because the bolt that is fired travels more or les in a straight line or a slight arc. Ballistas are very useful, but difficult to use. Also if a target is constantly moving, it will be difficult for a ballista to hit it.

The ballista costs 10 silver or 10 badges of honour. It takes 30 supply to build.

    Catapult

The catapult is a ranged weapon that does massive damage and knockdown damage to anyone and anything that is in its path. A catapult is extremely effective against walls and very effective against enemy players. While it is a very powerful weapon, the catapult takes a long time to load and fire shots. This means that enemy players have sufficient time to get away from the blast radius. Also, this also means that with a slow rate of fire, if your catapult isn’t well defended it can be an easy target to be destroyed.

The catapult costs 12 silver or 12 badges of honour. It takes 50 supply to build.

    Trebuchet T

The trebuchet is a long range weapon that deals MASSIVE damage to anyone and anything in its path. Because of its long range it is more difficult to aim than a catapult, but if the trebuchet hits its target whether its enemy players or enemy walls it will do a lare amount of damage to it. It is an excellent defensive & offensive tool.

The trebuchet costs 24 silver or 24 badges of honour. It takes 100 supply to build.

Siege Weapons are a crucial part of the game and the more faimliar players get with each weapon, the more complex strategies and gameplay in World vs World will become. Purchase a set of blueprints and become familiar with these weapons.

Looking forward to seeing you in game,

    Angry Fig
