In keeping with our recently new slogan of "Connecting Trinidad & Tobago's Gamers", we have decided to place more focus on this aspect of connectivity which has been disparate. Thousands of local gamers play online on various servers. However, only a few hundred are active and connected to each other.
We need everyone to do their part and post their tags for the various online gaming services. Please let me know if I missed any. Please add your tags to the lists for Steam, Battle.NET 2.0, Xbox LIVE!, PS3, Wii and Garena.
Trinigamers is the premier gaming organization in Trinidad and Tobago. Our purpose is relatively simple, to promote electronic sports while at the same time maintaining the fun and easy going environment associated with cyber-gaming. Our organization has done this via the hosting of tournaments, both offline and online which cover the various genres and platforms that are popular internationally and locally.
While a non-profit organization, we have dedicated ourselves to educating and informing our members on the latest happenings in the competitive arena. We provide an avenue for members to grow and mature into seasoned competitors capable of competing with the world's best cyberathletes.
TriniGamers is run by a dedicated group of volunteer staff, who hail from all avenues of society; business, law, medicine and of course the IT field.
Join up, post on the forums, start playing on one of our local severs or sweat in the game Arcade.

Milla Jovovich let it slip that shooting on Resident Evil 4 will start in late 2009. No word of when it's expected to be ready for release. The Resident Evil movies have each grossed in excess of 100 million worldwide and growing.
Recently there've been quite a few reports about iPhones overheating when using GPS, playing games or music. Seems like the claims are that both the older 3G and the newer 3GS phones are affected and some believe that it may be connected to the updated OS.
Basically they're saying dont store it anywhere where it may get too hot or too cold (45º C is the magic number). They warn that you shouldnt use it in temperatures of over 35º C.They warn that extremes of temperature can affect battery life, prevent charging, dim the display, etc..
The iPhone includes a temperature warning screen that tells you that the iPhone will need to cool down before you can go back to using it. It basically locks you out of the phone with a slider that you may be able to use to make emergency calls.
The common sense warnings of things to avoid include: Leaving the iPhone in a car on a hot day; Using the iPhone in direct sunlight; Using apps like GPS tracking or listening to music in hot conditions.
If you've got one of these phones here in T&T you may want to take note. The four day forecast shows us maxing out... [Read More]
Blizzard released a set of tech trees for all three races in Starcraft II. I'm not sure how complete this is due to storyline spoilers and ongoing development of course. It's a head start none the less.
Yesterday Blizzard Entertainment filed for new trademarks in the US under the game "Cataclysm". Three applications cover computer games, online gaming and paper products. Knowing that Blizzard has an unknown MMO IP currently in development, it's a fair guess that this may well be the name under which it will be released. If that's correct then the name itself gives a hint towards what the game will be about.
Well. What does it mean?
The cataclysm is the Greek expression for the Deluge, from the Greek kataklysmos, to 'wash down' (kluzein "wash" + kata "down"). and it has also been used to describe events such as the Flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the tenth plague of Egypt. The modern usage of cataclysm is mostly confined to geological phenomena of high significance, such as the destruction of Pompeii, the Tunguska event, or the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. -- Wikipedia
Essentially not just the aftermath of disastrous event but a near post apocalyptic one. That sounds pretty interesting to me. Lets hope this means WoW gets destroyed for holding up Starcraft development for a year. ... [Read More]
Right off their own site. According to other sources, the pricetag seems to be about SEK 60 million. After paying off the almost 4 million in damages from the trial verdict that leaves about the same amount to split between the crew.
They say that the profit will go into a foundation for freedom of speech or something.
Yeah so Kotaku is reporting that Lawrence Kasanoff, the guy behind the movies and shows has decided to sue Midway to get protection of his film/TV rights to some of the characters in the event that Midway sells the game off.
Basically he claims that it was their work on the movies and TV shows and whatnot that carried the whole thing into the mainstream media. If he wins, then Warner Bros may have to rethink the deal they are looking at with Midway.
So, who do you think should have the film rights to the characters the company that owns the game series that invented them, or the company that spread them to houses where people had only barely heard of the game?
